Studying at the Faculty of Medicine...
One step at a time
1. Explore our programs
If you are interested in basic biomedical or clinical research, you are in the right place.
Explore our Graduate Programs page and discover unexpected study topics. You can refine your search according to your interests, research area, or program type. The official admission requirements for each program are posted on the Université Laval website.
2. Find a supervisor or a research project
You have selected one of our graduate programs? Good choice!
We strongly suggest that you find a research supervisor before filling out your application. You will thus simplify the process, and avoid paying unnecessary application fees.
However, some programs do not require choosing a research supervisor before applying:
- Short-term programs
- The Professional Master’s program in Speech-Language Pathology
- The Bachelor-Master’s programs in Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy
- Community Health programs
- The Master’s program in Epidemiology with a major in Epidemiology
There are three ways to find a supervisor:
- Consult the project offers posted by the Faculty’s researchers on the University’s web page entitled Current Research Projects (Offres de projets de recherche) (French version only).
- Use the Apply for a research project (Postuler pour un projet de recherche) (French version only) application to apply for research projects within your desired program. Research professors at the Faculty of Medicine who are looking for new students will read your file.
- You can also contact Faculty of Medicine researchers directly. See the search options below to learn about our professors and their research fields.
Search for a professor:
- By research field:
Research Field Directory (French version only) - By keyword:
Pub Med Search (Example: Cancer and Université Laval) - By program:
Read the Research section of the official description of the program you are interested in on the Université Laval website (French version only)
3. Submit your application
The worst is behind you. You can now complete your application (French version only).
